It is September, Autumn or Fall is upon us, even on the equator. I am sure you can sense it as well. We are getting more rain, the position of sunrise and sunset has shifted, the air is cooler, and nights are longer. So I guess we can start the happy hours earlier?
Over the busy summer months, although we have dropped some labels, but we have picked up others, such as the Pinot Noir from Oregon and Russian River of Siduri Wines. And we have started featuring some selected fine Bordeaux wines. So let’s begin with Siduri. This interesting winery was started by Adam and Dianna Lee, with just USD24k in 1994, and the goal to produce Pinot Noirs that are appellation and vineyard-designated with grapes sourced from California and Oregon. The 2011 vintage witnessed Adam and Dianna Lee’s dedication and passion to find and work with the best Pinot Noir growers with 20 different Pinot Noir bottling. If you like Kosta Browne and Loring’s Pinot Noir, you be happy to know that these Pinot Noir makers were mentored and modelled by Adam Lee. We are pleased to have the opportunity to select two of the 2011 bottling for you to explore.
Siduri 2011 Chehalam Mountain Pinot Noir, Oregon S$65 nett/btl Note: Screw cap Closure (Production: 613 cases)
”…Only 17% of fruit made the cut for this bottling, mostly from old vines. A simple but easy drinking wine with shy cherry, sandalwood and espresso aromas, cherry and raspberry flavors, good acidity and very soft tannins. Respectable concentration in an elegant, light weight offering….” PinotFile.

“The pedigree of this vineyard shows in every aspect. It’s not just ripe black cherry and pomegranate fruit, or the brisk acidity, or the lush, gorgeous tannin structure.
It’s the incredible complexity, showing all kinds of mushroom, cola, smoked meat and spice notes. Simply gorgeous now, and should develop over the next 10 years.”
